Celtic Lessons
Date: 28th April
Time: 18:30-21:00
Place: Dover Castle Bar, Brighton
Description: Basic Celtic Drawing Lessons.
We will be exploring the basics of Celtic knotwork in a 2.5 hour workshop, which will run from 6:30pm – 9pm on Sunday 28th April.
Using the medium of coloured pencil, we will guide and support you through the basics for creating elaborate Celtic knotwork. We will use a blend of George Bain’s methods and my own. By the end of our workshop, you will have learned fundamental techniques behind this ancient art and will be able to recreate some of the traditional motifs and patterns. I will be delivering the workshop together with Roanne Legge, an artist and art educator of over 20 years who is also a history specialist.
All materials are provided – just bring yourself and your eagerness to delve into the enigmatic world of Celtic knots!
If you want to make a day of it, you are welcome to turn up before the class and have a tasty Sunday roast – I know the Dover Castle does one from 12pm till 6pm. Alternatively you come early and get yourself a pint or a glass in readiness to begin!
Look forward to seeing you all there!
